As the summer months roll in, there will be more opportunities to explore Charlotte’s dining scene with a view.

Fortunately, the Queen City is home to many rooftop bars and restaurants, where patrons can take in stunning views of the city skyline while sipping on a cold drink or indulging in a chef-crafted meal.

Here are six rooftop dining spots worth checking out this summer in Charlotte:

Nuvole Rooftop

Nestled at the top of the AC Hotel Charlotte City Center in Queen City Quarter, Nuvolé Rooftop TwentyTwo offers a chic setting with stunning views of Uptown. The menu features Italian-inspired dishes and craft cocktails. Nuvole has great daytime and evening views, making it a perfect date night or meeting place for drinks.

The Waterman Fish Bar

The Waterman Fish Bar is located in South End and offers a casual rooftop dining experience. The restaurant mainly features seafood dishes, like its popular raw oyster platter and lobster rolls. The Waterman is a great option for a day outing on South Boulevard.

Whiskey Warehouse

Whiskey Warehouse is a restaurant in the heart of Plaza Midwood. It offers food and drinks in a rustic atmosphere and casual rooftop. Whiskey Warehouse has an extensive selection of whiskey and craft beers, cocktails, and mocktails. It also serves classic bar-style menu options, along with salads and appetizers.

Merchant & Trade

This trendy high-rise bar and restaurant is known for its views above the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel. It offers panoramic views of the city and boasts a sophisticated atmosphere that caters to an outing that is a bit less casual. The menu features signature drinks and entrees like a lobster roll, salads and New York strip steak.

Fahrenheit

Widely considered one of the city’s earlier trendy rooftop restaurants, Fahrenheit is known for its partially wraparound balcony in Uptown. Located on the 21st floor, it offers “New American fare” options, from a classic burger to Wagyu steamed bao buns.

City Lights Rooftop

City Lights is a laid-back rooftop bar above Le Méridien Charlotte that offers cocktails and small plates, such as sliders and other appetizers. The bar also hosts several events throughout the year and sometimes has live music. The bar’s Instagram says it is “Charlotte’s largest rooftop bar.”

Whether you’re looking for a trendy spot in Uptown or the more relaxed atmosphere found in Plaza Midwood, Charlotte’s a rooftop destination to suit just about every taste.
