The City of Charlotte is looking to hire more than 100 new firefighters.

The Charlotte Fire Department is accepting applications for its firefighter recruit program.

As Charlotte continues to grow, the Charlotte Fire Department said in a statement that hiring more firefighters ensures the department can keep up with the needs of the city.

“We are looking for individuals who want to lead and serve this great city of ours in one of the most fulfilling, public-facing roles on our team,” Charlotte Fire Chief Reginald Johnson said in a statement.

Charlotte Fire recruits are paid full-time employees with a complete City of Charlotte benefits package that starts at the start of recruit school, which lasts around six months.

The application will be open until noon on April 10.

Apply online or visit CharlotteFire.org for more information about the hiring process.
