The People’s Market, a Black-owned cafe and cocktail bar, is set to open its third location this summer.

The People’s Market is a casual, seat-yourself cafe that opened in Dilworth in 2017 but closed in 2020 due to financial strain. In 2022, it reopened on Elizabeth Avenue, and owner Cory Duran announced its location in LoSo — lower South End — in July 2023. The LoSo location is set to open this year as well.

The market offers many things under one roof, including cocktails, food, deli and specialty grocery items, pastries and more.

The new location will be “in the heart of Myers Park,” according to a press release sent Tuesday. The 6,000-square-foot space will have indoor-outdoor dining, an open floor plan, a covered patio and free parking.

Duran said he’s thrilled to expand to Myers Park and that continued expansion is part of the concept’s business model.

“Ongoing expansion is part of our business model, and this location closely matches our brand’s mission to be a family-friendly, community gathering place to eat, work, and play. Our goal remains the same: give the people what they want! We’re planning to deliver our cherished menu favorites to Myers Park, complemented by some exciting new ideas,” he said in a statement.

Guests can expect a relaxed environment open seven days a week with a menu that includes breakfast options, sandwiches, salads, pizza, small bites, burgers and vegan offerings.
