The Assistant Director of Outreach and Strategic Partnerships manages the Institute’s online presence and supports all of the Institute’s public relations and engagement activities, including events and publications. These activities include the Institute’s main website, which serves as an online policy journal for the Charlotte region, and a number of policy-oriented engagement initiatives such as City Walks (an annual series of walking tours of Charlotte neighborhoods focusing on social capital). This position also serves as an expert on urban and regional policy issues, such as land use planning, economic development, urban design, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. While not a member of the Institute’s research team, the person in this position will be engaged in limited research projects that align with strategic regional initiatives or have journalistic or online component, according to her/his expertise.
