"The Gift", is a modern-day Good Samaritan depiction of a bishop who is mugged in route to a revival. His peers encounter him on the streets, but ignore his cry for help. However, the homeless (a bag lady; a runaway teen; and an unemployed football player) feed him; offer him a sleeping bag; and show him kindness. Some "gifts" come in unexpected packages.
"The Gift" is a homeless benevolence project with the theme song: "I Might Be Homeless; But I'm Not Worthless!". This original play, written by multi-award winning playwright/director Vickie L. Evans, earned the 2017 Broadway World Best Musical award.
