Levine Museum Presents: Unexampled Courage

Tuesday, June 18, 2019
Unexampled Courage tells the powerful story of how a police assault on a uniformed black soldier changed the course of America's Civil Rights history and led Charleston federal judge Waties Waring to play a key role in the Supreme Court's landmark decision in Brown v. Board of Education.

On June 18th, United States District Court Judge Richard Gergel visits Levine Museum to discuss his new book and the incident that gained national attention. He will be joined by renowned Civil Rights attorney James Ferguson and Joseph DeLaine, Jr., whose family organized the South Carolina desegregation lawsuit.

Tickets $15 for non-members (25% discount for members) and includes program, a Southern chicken dinner from Mert’s Heart and Soul, and a cash bar. Space is limited, reservations required.
