Charlotte Sustainability Summit

Saturday, June 15, 2019
On Saturday, June 15, Sustain Charlotte and The Integrated Network for Social Sustainability (INSS) will bring you the 2019 Charlotte Sustainability Summit! Join us for a full-day of workshops and discussions led by experts on a variety of local sustainability issues including food, water, transportation, land conservation, greenways and parks, air quality, and affordable and equitable housing.

We will kick off the event with our keynote speaker Ray McKinnon who is the Senior Pastor at South Tryon Community United Methodist Church. He is also a member of the Charlotte Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and of the Leading on Opportunity Council. McKinnon will explore sustainability in Charlotte through the lens of equity, health, and climate.

We will also have lunch and a state of local sustainability presentation by Sustain Charlotte founder and executive director Shannon Binns. He will discuss encouraging recent trends and the challenges that remain to improve sustainability in the Charlotte region.

Events will take place in the classrooms and auditorium of UNCC Center City.
