BNS Productions Presents: The Black Experience After Juneteenth

Tuesday, June 22, 2021
As we reflect on Juneteenth and its legacy, BNS Productions presents two original African American stage readings of perseverance and love.

Reading #1. “The day of June 19th”: This story is about a slave who falls in love with a beautiful African princess. As he courts her, they both dream of freedom. The ancestors answer their prayers on June 19, 1865.

Reading #2. “Speakeasy”: Horse is a part of the great migration. He settles in Pennsylvania and falls for a tough owner of a Speakeasy.

These stage readings feature dance performances, historical references, and a unique look on the Black experience by Rory D. Sheriff.
