Elements of Empowerment, Inc. partners with the City of Belmont to sponsor and host the Belmont Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, specifically the June 19, 1865 announcement in Galveston, Texas. The Belmont Juneteenth Celebration remains the only such event in Gaston County. It is branded and well-established as a festival that emphasizes music, art, and culture. The day will feature live music concerts, unique vendors, and ethnic food.
Family-friendly activities include:

• Inflatable Slide
• Live Music
• Paper Bag Quilt Station
• Tye-Dye T-shirt Station
Attendance is free.
Vendor space is available for nominal fees.
