A Charlotte man was killed following a shooting in west Charlotte on Friday morning.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department identified the victim as 54-year-old Carl George Brown.
According to a statement from CMPD, shortly before 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a person down call for service in the 2400 block of Julia Avenue near Stateville Avenue.
When officers got there, they discovered a victim with gunshot wounds. Medic pronounced the victim dead on the scene, police said.
