The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a shooting Saturday night that resulted in the death of one person.
According to a statement from the department, shortly after 9:00 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 5800 block of Old Providence Road.Â
When officers got there, they discovered a victim with a gunshot wound, police said. Medic transported the victim to the hospital, where they were pronounced deceased, police said.
