One person was found dead after a shooting at a southeast Charlotte apartment complex, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says.
According to a release from CMPD, the incident happened at the 9500 block of Lucy Jane Lane in Independence on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. When they arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound.
Officers pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. Police took a suspect into custody and are not looking for additional suspects, the release said.
The department has yet to release any further information at this time.
