In May of this year, Malik Yoba received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Livingstone College for his commitment to community building and his work in real estate through his company Yoba Development.

To see this commitment through, the “Cool Runnings” actor plans to collaborate with Libra Management Group, a Charlotte-based real estate developer to provide current and former Livingstone students with job and internship opportunities.

“For us, young people and our disenfranchised community are always at the center of our work in development and building human capacity,” Yoba said in a statement.

Apart from his acting career, Yoba is shifting much of his focus to advancing Yoba Development and is directing an eight-part docuseries titled “The Real Estate Mix Tape Vol. 1.”

The series depicts Yoba’s journey in real estate while highlighting the lack of recognition that real estate professionals and entrepreneurs of color receive.

“This content was made strictly for high schools, colleges and community; not streaming or television” Yoba said.

Although it’s entertaining, emotional and informative, it requires intentional viewing only.”
