From Aug. 18 – Aug. 20, local veterans can take advantage of VA representatives and community programs focused on healthcare, housing, education, employment and social enrichment.
The Veterans Benefit live event will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Veterans who participate must bring their DD 214, medical and service records, and any dependency documents.
Why it matters: Black veterans face racial bias when seeking mental health support and higher employment rates than their counterparts.
