Owners, Jay & Miketa Davis, opened their first Lulu’s Maryland Style Chicken & Seafood in Charlotte in November 2019. Both Jay & Miketa are from Maryland, & Lulu’s offers authentic Maryland style seafood. They now have 3 locations in Charlotte.
Lulu’s offers Maryland-style crab cakes alongside fish, shrimp and fried chicken platters. There’s grilled shrimp and salmon — and even spiced versions — and plenty of combination options.
Their sides include everything from garlic mashed potatoes and mac and cheese to greens, yams, cornbread, asparagus and grits. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy pound cake, cheesecake and banana pudding. Their drink menu offers a variety of handcrafted cocktails, beer & wine options.
I had the pleasure of visiting the location off Central Avenue. The 8oz crab cake with asparagus & mac & cheese is a must try! If you’re craving authentic Maryland-style seafood, Lulu’s is your place! This black-owned restaurant has something for everyone!
