The Live at Eleven summer concert series is held every first Friday in Ballantyne, and it’s pretty live if you’re looking for something to do with the entire family (pets, included!)

Located in Ballantyne’s Backyard, a vast space with plenty of grass and a picnic area, the monthly event supports more than 100,000 local students through Classroom Central by distributing essential supplies to six local school districts.

Fab food and fresh air

My daughter and I went on July 1 to sample the food and outdoor festivities.

With so much space and fresh air, we could choose to burn off some energy or relax in the summer breeze. Others enjoyed listening to music and dancing in the open area filled with blankets and folding lounge chairs.

Some people came for fun, others for the clouded sun, and then there’s the food.

I got excited about the food on the way in because, as my daughter and I exited the free parking garage, a couple stopped us alongside the path to the entrance to ask, “Is this where we can find Bae’s Burgers?” Like yes! But, also MarlieQ’s Carribean Queen, Abbott’s frozen custard, It’s Poppin’ Gourmet Kettle Corn Popcorn, No Forks Given, D9 Brewing Co., and more!

Live music and summer games

The Live at Eleven summer concert series features local bands like INSpire, Justin Mintun, Rustbucket, and Kids in America. It’s a ticketed event, but kids ages five and under are free. So, don’t hesitate to bring kids of all ages!

The band plays on a big stage, so people were either up and grooving or kicking back to the tunes. Also, there is a sand area for children to explore and giant backyard games for a little friendly competition.
