A company dedicated to showcasing, educating, and supporting African-Brazilian Movement Arts, The NC Brazilian Arts Project put on the 3rd annual Capoeira Festival and Batizado on Juneteenth at The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.
SUA CASA, hosted by Monitor Peruca, Monitora Reba and Monitora Cigana of the International Capoeira School was supervised by Mestre Esquilo and Contramestre Zumbi.
SUA CASA, translated YOUR HOUSE, is an event where we celebrate not only new students getting their first cord but also recognize the accomplishments of those that have been training for some time. Most importantly it’s a time for the community.
