From May 29 to June 5, Lisko’s Family Midway Amusements hosted a carnival in East Charlotte. The rides opened at 5 PM and closed at 10 PM and let me tell you, this carnival definitely took me on a trip down memory lane.

From the large ferris wheel to the beloved candied apples, this carnival had everything you needed to help you relive your childhood. All of the carnival goers and workers gravitated towards you with a friendly conversation and there was a ride or food stop that covered every inch of the location; you would not have even known that it was in a parking lot!

For the thrill seekers, some of the rides included the classic Ferris wheels (one that went really fast and the other one for those romantic moments), a carousel, the swing ride, a fun slide, and an avengers themed ride. They even had a pony ride and a mini ferris wheel for the little ones!

And for those who don’t do rides or just want to have some family fun, they had many cool games with lots of cool prizes to win, like your usual stuffed animal or goldfish in a bag. Some of the games there included mini ball, beer bust, ping pong toss (you know the one where you toss the ping pong balls into the tiny fish bowls), and balloon pop.

And I certainly did not forget about the foodies! Lisko’s offered some tantalizing foods from fresh powdered funnel cakes to flavorful chicken gyros to delicious fresh french fries tossed in salt. And of course, they had the best carnival food of all: candied apples.

Originally, the carnival was supposed to move to Freedom Drive but because of scheduling conflict, it was moved to Statesville, North Carolina instead. The good news? Lisko tours their carnival all summer.

The not-so-good news? I am not entirely sure if they will be back in Charlotte but hopefully they will be. The carnival is always a delightful experience!
