It’s almost quittin’ time for Livingstone President Jimmy R. Jenkins.
One June 25, the school will host an “Evening of Celebration” to honor Jenkins and his wife, Faleese Moore Jenkins.
R&B group and Hall of Fame inductees The Whispers will provide entertainment.
Jenkins’ retirement, announced early this year, comes after a long academic career – not just at Livingstone but at other colleges and universities.
Jenkins attended his final commencement ceremony ahead of his retirement a couple of weeks back alongside actor Malik Yoba.
Proceeds from the gala will go toward the Endowed Bridge Program, a six-week summer program that helps students with “college potential” who don’t meet current admission requirements.
