Nearly 30 vendors will return when the Camp North End Farmers Market opens April 6 for a second season.
Vendors will include local farmers, artisans, crafters and more. The market will include 12 anchor vendors. At least 18 others will rotate on a weekly schedule.
As it did last season, the market will accept federal SNAP payments. Residents enrolled in the federal nutrition program will get $2 in food products for each $1 in SNAP benefits they spend.
Last year, the market accepted about $10,081 in SNAP and EBT benefits, the highest amount of any local farmers markets, according to ATCO Properties & Management, which operates Camp North End.

“We are thrilled to bring North End Farmers Market back to Camp North End following such a successful inaugural season,” Camp North End Development Director Tommy Mann said in the statement.
Lynn S. Caldwell, director and co-founder of Farmers Market Management Services, noted the market’s “vibrant and diverse” collection of vendors.
“There is no better way to create positive, trusting relationships in our community than a market like North End Farmers Market, which provides our community with fresh, local foods and the opportunity to utilize SNAP (and double bucks) benefits,” said Shannon Emmanuel, a board member at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy.
