A CAT Bus Driver is suffering from life-threatening injuries after being shot in Uptown Charlotte Friday night.

Authorities have identified as 41-year-old Ethan Rivera.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, around 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a call at 500 block of W. Trade Street.

 When they got there, officers located a CATS bus where the driver had been shot. 

Medic has transported the driver with life-threatening injuries. Rivera died at the hospital on Saturday.

According to CMPD investigation, Rivera got into a verbal altercation with another driver. The driver fired gunshots from inside his vehicle which struck Rivera.

There were four passengers on the bus, none of whom were injured during the incident.
