Communities in Schools Charlotte has received its largest donation ever, according to an announcement last week.
The $5 million gift was from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.Â
Communities in Schools works with students attending more than 50 public schools in the CMS system.Â
Men Tchaas Ari, the organization’s president and CEO, said Scott’s gift will extend that work to include more students.
