The Charlotte Women’s Movement and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Queen City Metropolitan chapter, joined together again for the Women United March on Jan. 25.
This year’s theme was “Use Your Power.” Thousands participated in the local event that kicked off at First Ward Park.
Speakers included Rev. Sharon Washington Risher on gun violence; Angelica Garnett on immigration; Brooke Adams on reproductive rights; Dr. Alisahah Cole on healthcare; and Mary Ellis Stevens, Krissy Oliver-Mays, and Ollie Ritchey on climate change.
