What’s a person to do when armed robbers burst in and steal your weed?
You call CMPD, of course.
On Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police got a call about a home invasion in the 6200 block of Regal Estate Lane. The victims told police that three unknown suspects, all wearing masks, entered the home with a gun and robbed the victims of cash, marijuana and a PlayStation, then drove away.
Police were able to identify one suspect by tracking his court-ordered electronic monitoring device, which placed the suspect at the victims’ home at the time of the robbery. Police then used that device to track the suspect to an apartment near the Hidden Valley neighborhood, where they found a PlayStation, mask and marijuana — plus three additional suspects.
All were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, 2nd-degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
As for the victims, CMPD did not indicate whether they were charged with marijuana possession.
