CMPD is investigating the city’s second homicide this weekend — a shooting in north Charlotte that claimed one life.
The shooting was reported Saturday at 1:47 p.m. in the 5200 block of Henderson Circle. The call was in reference to a robbery from person/assault with a deadly weapon.
When officers got there, they located a male, sitting in a parked car, with an apparent gunshot wound. Medic pronounced him dead at the scene. CMPD made no mention of an arrest or suspect.

A man was killed and another injured in a late-night shooting in SouthEnd, one of Charlotte’s most popular entertainment districts.
Police withheld the victims’ names pending notification of family members.
The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. in the 100 block of W. Summit Avenue. When police got there, they found a man lying in the street on Summit Avenue at the intersection with S. Tryon Street. Medic pronounced him dead at the scene.
A short time later, a second male showed up at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center with a gunshot wound described as not life threatening. Police said both men were shot during the same incident.
Authorities made no mention of a suspect of motive for the shooting.
