Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the city’s latest homicide — the death of a woman who was found unresponsive along a street in southeast Charlotte. The woman had what appeared to be a bullet wound, the department said in a statement sent to local media.

CMPD got a call around 8:45 Wednesday about a person down in the 3400 block of Biscayne Drive, which is just off Eastway Drive. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police withheld the victim’s name until family members could be notified. Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
