A 19-year-old pregnant woman received life-threatening injuries late Saturday when she was shot outside a shopping center in northwest Charlotte.
Police did not release the victim’s name.
The shooting happened in a parking lot shortly after 6 p.m. in the 3200 block of Beatties Ford Road, a section of town that has seen a number of shootings in recent months.
The woman was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where hospital staff delivered her baby. Both were said to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
