Police identify 27-year-old woman was victim killed in domestic dispute

UPDATE: Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified the victim in this case as Tulvel Denise McDougald, 27.

A woman was killed in east Charlotte in what police described as a domestic dispute.

Authorities did not immediately release the victim’s name but said the homicide was reported just before 2 p.m. Monday in the 13200 block of Great Laurel Road, which is near the Interstate 485 beltway.

Officers sent to the residence found the woman with an apparent gunshot wound. Police detained a person of interest but did not say whether charges had been filed.
