CIAA out of Charlotte, according to source

A source reports that the CIAA basketball tournament, which has been in Charlotte since 2006, will leave the Queen City after its contract expires in 2020.

As first reported by HBCU GameDay, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) basketball tournament is leaving Charlotte and headed to Baltimore after its contract ends in 2020.

There has been no comment from tournament officials, but a press conference will be held on Tuesday to address the move.

We reported in December that Baltimore and Norfolk, Va., were also hoping to host the tournament from 2021-2023.
