So far, 170,464 people have voted in Mecklenburg County. That’s more than half of the early voting numbers during the 2016 presidential election.

But for those who are planning to vote on Election Day, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte is making it a step easier for parents and caregivers to get to the polls. Branches across the Charlotte region will provide free childcare on Nov. 6 so residents can cast their votes.

“We want local families to know the Y is here when they need us,” said Adrianne Hobbs, the Y’s executive director of youth development.

Eleven branches are listed as participating sites. Space is limited. Interested parents will need to complete a registration form once they arrive. For more information, visit ymcacharlotte.org, stop by your local branch or call 704-716-6200.
