16-year-old boy charged with murder

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged a 16-year-old boy with murder following a deadly shooting Monday afternoon in north Charlotte.

CMPD identified the suspect as Tamerrian Anthony.

Anthony is accused of killing 25-year-old Demario Ericson Roddey during an argument. The shooting was reported at 2:41 p.m. in the 9300 block of Feldbank Drive.

Anthony was arrested near the crime scene after a police search that included tracking dogs. A CMPD public information officer said the victim and suspect knew one another but didn’t say what evidence led detectives to arrest Anthony.

In addition to murder, Anthony was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
