What’s Happening, Charlotte?

The annual BOOM Festival returns to Plaza Midwood Friday through Sunday.

That means three days of music, art, dance, theater and spoken word, organized by local artists and performers. The festival will also include plenty of children’s activities to accommodate the whole family.

BOOM will showcase performances from AfroPOP! Nation: Street Art & Popup performances, Aerial Charlotte, Charlotte Repertory Dance Theatre and more.

With more than 100 shows, exhibits and art installations, and with pop-ups popping up all around the neighborhood, festival founder Manoj Kesavan says it will be “the biggest BOOM yet.”
