A 36-year-old woman was shot and killed during a robbery early Tuesday in north Charlotte.
At 6:15 a.m., police responded to a call on Barrington Drive following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Officers arrived to find a female victim, later identified as Maria Eduvigig Echeverria de Gomez, with an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where she later died.
Based on witness statements, police were looking for black males who left the scene in a black sedan. The men were last seen driving on Barrington Drive towards Milton Road.
