Authorities shut down Northlake Mall late Saturday after shots were reported outside the mall.
Police arrested a 17-year-old male and charged him with discharging a firearm within city limits.
The shots were reported to CMPD at 9:27 p.m. When officers arrived, they determined that no one had been hit by the gunfire.
The suspect, Julsan Hasaan Clyburn, faces additional charges of possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm by a minor and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to Mecklenburg jail records, Clyburn was arrested in April 2017 and charged with assault by pointing a gun and communicating threats.
