CMPD looks for sexual assault suspect

A woman told police a man pushed her against a wall and forcibly fondled her.

CMPD is looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman near UNC Charlotte.

The incident happened Feb. 4 at an apartment complex in the 8900 block of University City Boulevard. The victim told police the suspect pushed her against a wall and forcibly fondled her and then ran off.

On Friday, CMPD distributed photos taken by a surveillance camera that are said to show the suspect, described as a black male, approximately 20-years-old, 5’9” tall with a thin build and medium complexion.

In response to recent incidents, CMPD has increased patrols at apartment complexes near the campus, the department said Friday.
