Celebrities and fans took to social media to mourn the death of comedian Charlie Murphy at age 57. The cause of death was leukemia.
The older brother of megastar Eddie Murphy gained a measure of fame himself, especially as a writer for “Chapelle’s Show” on Comedy Central. “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories” led to some of the show’s most memorable sketches about encounters with Rick James and Prince (both portrayed by Dave Chapelle) in the now-legendary sketches.
On Tuesday night, Murphy posted on social media this final piece of advice: “One to Sleep On: Release the past to rest as deeply as possible.”
