A 32-year-old woman whose body was found Wednesday inside a Charlotte home has been declared a homicide victim.
Police identified the woman as Jennifer Renee Smith.
As of early Thursday, police had announced no arrest in the case, but a CMPD spokesman said Smith and the person suspected in her killing were involved in a relationship.
Police discovered Smith’s body inside a home in the 12300 block of Verdant Court in southwest Charlotte, in CMPD’s Steele Creek Division. The department had received a call earlier that day from a person requesting that officers check on her welfare.
Police have not publically disclosed how Smith died.
Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak to a homicide detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
