Charlotte-Mecklenburg police made a second arrest Thursday in the shooting death of a 37-year-old man in northwest Charlotte.
Police identified the suspect as Johnquan Edward Rowell, 25. He was charged with murder and felony conspiracy in the March 14 killing of Germany Joaquin Byers. Mecklenburg jail records show that Rowell has been arrested at least 11 times in Mecklenburg County.
Byers was shot in the area of LaSalle Street and Beatties Ford Road and was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Centre.
Also arrested in the case was Kyerra Channing Michelle Guinn, 22. Guinn was arrested March 16 and charged with murder and felony conspiracy.
Both suspects were being held at the Mecklenburg jail.
Police offered no information about what led to the shooting.
