A 34-year-old man died late Monday after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Monroe Road.
Authorities identified the victim as Pedro Tovar III.
According to a CMPD report, Tovar was riding a bicycle in the inbound lanes when he was struck from behind by a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CL65 driven by 19-year-old Henry Powell Satterwhite. The crash was reported at 6:49 p.m. in the 4800 block of Monroe Road.
Police said Tovar was not wearing a helmet and was wearing dark clothing, and his bicycle had no reflector or lights.
CMPD said Satterwhite stopped after hitting Tovar and attempted to render aid. Neither speed nor alcohol was suspected as being factors in the crash.
