Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a shooting that was reported late Wednesday in a neighborhood in northwest Charlotte.
Authorities withheld the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
Officers were called to the scene in the 6200 block of Stonefort Court at 7:10 p.m. to investigate a report of shots being fired. Once there, they found a male with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he later died.
