Charlotte recorded its first homicide of 2017 early Monday when a man was shot in southeast Charlotte and died at Carolinas Medical Center.
CMPD withheld the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
The shooting was reported at 12:05 a.m. in the 6500 block of Monroe Road inthe Independence Division. Police released no details of the shooting but said the shooter and victim likely knew one another.
