UPDATE: Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged two teens with possessing firearms in relation to a Saturday night shooting that left four teens injured.
Carnis Poindexter Jr., 16, was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, and a 15-year-old male juvenile was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor, and shooting in the city limits.
CMPD detectives concluded that both Poindexter and the juvenile were at Spice Lounge on N. Tryon Street when the gunfire erupted shortly before 10:28 p.m.
A CMPD spokeswoman said information gathered at the scene led officers to search Poindexter’s vehicle, where they found a gun. Officers also located the 15-year-old juvenile, who admitted to firing a gun into the air after the shooting started, the spokeswoman said.
The investigation continues as detectives try to identify a suspect in the shootings.

Four teens, ranging in age from 14 to 16, where shot late Saturday outside Spice Lounge on N. Tryon Street. At least one was said to have life-threatening injuries.
CMPD did not release the victim’s names but said the shooting was reported at 10:28 p.m.
Based on early police reports, investigators believe the shootings happened in a parking lot, where a party was being held. Police found two firearms and questioned several people about the shootings.
According to Spice Lounge’s Facebook page, the business offers a variety of African dishes, a full bar and live entertainment. It also promotes itself as a venue for weddings, parties and other events.
