Bonjour Charlotte!
This week I returned from France in time to write my weekly column. Truth be told, I was not actually in France, but I did feel as if I was while visiting the new Country French restaurant, LaMadeleine, located in the Northlake area (previously Mimi’s Cafe).
Fireplaces add to the cozy ambiance, and there are many delicious items among the French pastries, quiches, sandwiches, soups and salads on the menu. With so many wonderful choices I finally settled for the strawberry and bacon spinach salad with sliced mushrooms and toasted pecans; French onion soup with cheese and croutons; and a delightful French pastry puff sandwich – chicken friand with swiss cheese. For dessert, I chose creme brulee cheesecake, which was excellent!
The staff was wonderful and made me feel at home. My meal was simply divine. Thumbs up for this new restaurant. I hope to see you there soon.
Check out my weekend picks.
