CMPD arrested a 33-year-old man Wednesday and charged him with murder in connection with a recent killing in south Charlotte.
The suspect, Michael Mandrell Marble, is charged with killing Louis Henry Fuqua, who was shot to death shortly before midnight on September 12 in the 500 block of Clanton Road.
In a statement emailed to local media, a CMPD spokeswoman said “evidence gathered during the course of the investigation” led detectives to link Marble to the crime. Detectives believe others also were involved in the shooting, she said.
In addition to the 1st-degree murder charge, Marble also was charged with assault and batter. As of early Thursday, he was still in Mecklenburg jail. No bail had been set
Jail records show that Marble had been arrested in Mecklenburg County at least seven times previously on charges ranging from armed robbery to assault on a female.
