Charlotte-Mecklenburg police early Thursday arrested a 21-year-old woman suspected in an east Charlotte shooting that left a man dead.
CMPD identified the suspect as Rece Cherrell King, who faces a murder charge in the death of 27-year-old Christopher Bernard Watson, Jr.
Watson died Wednesday at Carolinas Medical Center shortly after the shooting, which happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the 5900 block of Fairmarket Place. CMPD said Watson and King knew one another but didn’t say how. The Charlotte Observer reports that neighbors told police that the shooting happened during a domestic dispute.
