A 40-year-old man died Friday when he lost control of the motorcycle he driving on Little Rock Road in west Charlotte.
Michael Jermaine Catlin died at the scene, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
The crash was reported at 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Little Rock Road and Glenmoor Drive.
CMPD investigators believe that Mr. Catlin was traveling southbound on Little Rock when the 2003 Suzuki GSX1300R hit a median. The motorcycle continued southbound and ran off the right side of the roadway then struck a small tree and a street sign.
Investigators believe speed may have contributed to the crash.
