A 22-year-old man died early Thursday on Wilkinson Boulevard in a single-vehicle crash that also left two passengers injured.

Police said Zachary Alan Eubanks, who was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. His passengers, ages 22 and 23, were taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with injuries described as non-life threatening.

The wreck was reported at 12:24 a.m. in the 3900 block of Wilkinson Boulevard, near Rosemont Street in west Charlotte.

According to a CMPD incident report, Eubanks was driving inbound when the truck ran off the right side of the road, clipped a utility pole, slid sideways, struck a second utility pole and overturned. The truck came to rest against a metal fence after striking a parked vehicle.

Police said alcohol and excessive speed were factors in the crash, and no one in the truck was wearing a seat belt, investigators reported.
