A 49-year-old man was stabbed to death in a fight just north of uptown Charlotte Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was identified a Darrell Bernard Cureton.

According to a CMPD incident report, Cureton was in the 300 block of Plymouth Street, just off N. Tryon Street, when he got into a fight sometime around 4:49 p.m. He was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center.

Police did not name a suspect in the case, but said the victim and suspect knew one another.
