Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a reported kidnapping in southwest Charlotte during which the victim was shot.
The incident was reported Sunday at 1:58 a.m.
According to a statement released by CMPD, the victim was on Montcrest Drive in the Steele Creek Division when he was approached by two unknown black males who forced him into his car. The suspects drove the victim to the Brookshire Boulevard area, shot the victim while they were all still inside the vehicle, then dropped him off near a convenience store. The suspects then drove away in the victim’s car.
The man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries described as non-life threatening.
Police said the stolen vehicle was a silver 2008 Hyundai Elantra with North Carolina license plate PCC-1318. Anyone who sees it is asked to call 911.
