Carowinds has a new vice president and general manager, and her name is Pat Jones. Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., which owns the amusement park, made the announcement Monday.

Jones has worked in the amusement park industry for more than 35 years, the company said in a statement. Most recently she served as vice president and general manager at Kings Dominion, a sister park located just outside Richmond, Virginia.

Jones has held numerous leadership roles with Cedar Fair, including retail & games manager at Kings Dominion and vice president of resale at both Kings Dominion and Carowinds.  She also held a corporate vice president role when the parks were owned and operated by Paramount.

Jones replaces Brad Marcy, who has been promoted to corporate director, strategic initiatives, a newly created role in the company. Marcy will remain in Charlotte and will lead efforts to implement new product across Cedar Fair’s parks.
